Thank You

It’s been a very busy few weeks here in the camp leading up to the latest single launch on 29th April and the associated launch event, followed by a headline slot at the Ocean City Jazz & Blues Festival the next day and a set at the Gin Festival the day after that.

Naturally I couldn’t have managed it all on my own so I’d like to thank everyone involved who helped – my family for all their support with the event itself Mum, Dad, Seona, Eilidh along with Bev and Danielle for getting stuck in and helping out too, much appreciated. Thanks to Jamie and Paula from The Chancel for their partnership on the catering side of the event and to their staff for their work on the night. Read More

Damn Your Eyes Launch Event Poster

The Event

This is the launch event of the new single from Russell Sinclair entitled “Damn Your Eyes” a track written by Steve Bogard and Barbara Wyrick and recorded over the years by many artists around the globe – the most well known of these probably being the version by Etta James. This is a completely re-recorded, mixed and mastered version of the song that appeared first in demo form on Russell’s first solo EP release entitled “Plymouth Tapes Volume 1”. That version of the song has been one of Russell’s best selling tracks to date and is an established favourite at live gigs.

The event comprises 2 main features

  1. Photography exhibition featuring the creative work of local creative photographer Chris Coupland. There are four different versions of the cover art for the physical single with each being limited to 50 copies and each being a limited edition print of Chris’s original work.
  2. The highlight of the evening is a full unplugged performance from Russell and a band formed for this event only from some of the South Wests finest musicians. The unplugged performance will include new arrangements of some of Russell’s songs especially for this band and this unplugged performance alongside some well established favourites from the Blues genre.

Doors will open at 7pm with live music commencing at 9pm. There will be a champagne reception upon arrival with a light finger buffet. Guests will be able to browse the photography exhibition and chat with Chris about his work prior to the live music performance.

There will be a fully licensed bar available throughout the evening – purchases from the bar are not included in the ticket price.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £15 for the entire event and will take the form of physical paper tickets. Upon arrival and after admission to the venue you will be able to redeem your ticket for your copy of the physical CD.

  2. From The Chancel Wine Bar & Restaurant,2 St Andrews Street, Plymouth, PL1 2AH

Admission to the event is by ticket only and ticket numbers for this event are strictly limited because of the small size of the venue and the nature of the event.

I recently received a message out of the blue from someone I didn’t know enquiring about my music and asking if I’d be interested in doing an interview with them. I agreed and ended up having a great conversation with Matt Kacar from Pennsylvania who runs The Artist Connection Podcast. Matts podcasts cover the creative arts in the broadest sense – not just music. You can hear the interview I did with Matt in episode 280 of the podcast here:

The link to the podcast is at the foot of the page

As a special 1-off, Russell will be performing his debut album live in its entirety along with his regular band The Smokin’ Locos. There will be a support act (band or solo artist is still TBC at
the time of writing – follow on Facebook and Twitter to get the updates, details below).

In addition, our special guests for the evening are Vince Lee and the Big Combo.

This will be a fantastic evening of live music and we look forward to seeing you there to help us celebrate the launch of the album.

There’s a lot of interest in the event and tickets are on sale now.

In addition you can obtain tickets direct from Russell at any of his shows or by sending a message to us on this website using the contact form or dropping us a message on Facebook or Twitter (the account details are included at the end of this note).

On the night, physical copies of the album will be available for purchase to ticket holders at a discounted price of £7. After the event the regular price will be £10.

Transport

To help people attend the event who are travelling from Plymouth we have arranged free return transport.

The final details regarding pick up/drop off times and locations are dependant upon likely numbers making use of this facility. It’s estimated that around 40-45 seats will be available
via several minibuses on a first-come first-served basis.

It’s the intention that pick up will be around 7pm from a central location in Plymouth with the return buses leaving Rumleigh Farm around midnight. Final details will be confirmed once we better understand the likely number of people interested in this service.

If this free transport is of interest to you and you would like a seat please email the following address and provide the information requested

  • launchbus AT russellsinclair DOT co DOT uk

Replace the “AT” and “DOT” with the relevant characters and please state:

  1. your name
  2. how many seats you require
  3. primary contact name and email address or telephone number for communications about the travel arrangements

Seats will be allocated on a strictly first-come first-served basis. Please note that you will receive a confirmation email from us to confirm your seat(s). Until you receive confirmation
please DO NOT assume the seat is available.

We will post updates on this website plus Russell’s music Facebook page and Twitter feeds. Connect to them for updates if you’re not already, details are included below.

We will also post to advise if/when all seats are filled. If demand for seats exceeds supply we will compile a reserve list for those who requested a seat but were unlucky. This list will match the order in which the requests were received. Any seats that become available will be offered to those on the reserve list in the same order.

You are of course free to make your own travel arrangements to/from Rumleigh Farm for the event if you would prefer that – the site is well posted and there is parking available at Rumleigh Farm for private vehicles.
